Meghan Kalkstein

Meghan Kalkstein is a KATU reporter who stumbled onto the great neighborhood of Southwest Portland by luck, and is glad she did! 

One of the great parts about Meghan's neighborhood is that she volunteers at a major institution that helps all of Portland, but is particularly impressive (especially in size!) to the community of SW Portland.  On her days off, she spends time at Doernbecher (OHSU) with children who are battling cancer, and those who need intermediate care.  Whether it's painting, reading or playing board games, Meghan enjoys helping kids remember that they are 'just kids' even though they're battling very adult illnesses. 

She lives with her ‘three boys’: her husband, and her two male cats.  When she’s not cuddling with the kitties reading a book, you can probably catch Meghan running through the hills of SW Portland!
