Demonstrators gather outside Port of Portland offices
Transportation, News

Folks planning to attend a Columbia River Crossing Project Sponsors Council meeting gathered outside the Portland of Portland offices at 121 N.W. Everett Friday morning. They were there to show opposition to the project.

The I-5 Columbia River Crossing project is aimed at solving the traffic congestion problems between Portland and Vancouver. Earlier this week, Gov. Ted Kulongoski took a boat tour on the Columbia River and got a briefing on the project.

Once the meeting started, it was a packed house. KATU Reporter Dan Tilkin is following the story today.
