Wanted for TV show: Cops, security guards, and thugs

In a time of economic adversity, one sector in Oregon is currently hiring: The film industry.

The hit television series Leverage, starring Timothy Hutton, will shoot 15 more episodes in Portland starting March 2010. And one local casting company has undertaken this workforce development by seeking out athletic or burly men to play cops, security guards and thugs.

“It’s an interesting paradox,” says Lana Veenker, owner of Portland-based Lana Veenker Casting.  “Everywhere else, companies are laying their workers off, whereas we are scrambling to train up enough qualified actors and stunt people to meet the demand.”

Be An Extra

Lana Veenker Casting is organizing a Leverage Thug Informational Meeting for adult males who fit the aforementioned profiles.
